Unlayer Studio is retiring

Studio will be retired on June 30, 2026.

After June 30, 2026, Studio will be fully shut down — including asset hosting. Any images, files, or assets hosted through Unlayer Studio will stop loading. Emails, landing pages, or templates referencing Unlayer-hosted URLs will break.

Before June 30, you must:

  1. Download all designs and templates
  2. Download all assets (images, files) and re-upload them to your own hosting
  3. Update any live content to reference your new asset URLs

This migration must be completed by you before the deadline. If you have questions about the shutdown timeline, contact support@unlayer.com.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after June 30?

After June 30, you will no longer be able to access your Studio account. Images hosted through Studio will stop loading in any emails you previously created or sent. Your designs will no longer be accessible and data will be deleted in line with our retention policy. We strongly recommend downloading everything you need before the deadline.

Why can't I see my assets right now?

We've applied bandwidth restrictions to Studio accounts that are exceeding usage limits. This is part of our planned sunset process. See below for how to migrate your assets before June 30.

How do I migrate my assets?

Any images you uploaded through the Studio editor are stored on Unlayer's servers. You'll need to save copies and re-host them before June 30 — after that date, they will stop loading.

To find Unlayer-hosted images, export your email as HTML, open it in a text editor, and search for:

  • assets.unlayer.com — images you uploaded (logos, photos, banners, etc.)
  • cdn.tools.unlayer.com — default editor images (social icons, placeholders, etc.)

Quick tip: Searching for unlayer.com will catch both in one pass.

Once found: copy each image URL, paste it into your browser, save the image, upload it to your new hosting platform, and update the URL in your HTML. Repeat for each template.

How do I migrate my templates?

There is no bulk export tool — templates must be exported manually, one at a time. To export:

  1. Log into your Studio account.
  2. Navigate to the Campaigns section via the left sidebar.
  3. In the top-right corner, click the Export/Download button.
  4. Choose your export option — download directly to your computer, or export to an email service provider (Gmail, Mailchimp). If exporting to Gmail, connect your account and the design will appear in your Drafts folder.
  5. Repeat for each template.

What happens to my subscription and billing?

All Studio subscriptions end on June 30. If you have unused paid time remaining, a prorated refund will be initiated on July 6, 2026 and returned directly to your original payment method. It typically takes 7–10 business days to appear. There are no invoice credits — refunds go directly to the card on file. No action is required on your end.

What if I miss the June 30 deadline?

June 30 at 11:59 PM UTC is a firm deadline. We are not able to extend access individually. After this date, your workspace will be inaccessible and your data will be deleted. We strongly recommend migrating as soon as possible.

How much time do I have?

Studio will be fully shut down on June 30, 2026. We recommend migrating as soon as possible.

Is there an alternative product from Unlayer?

We don't have a migration path to offer from Studio. Your data is yours to download before June 30. Unlayer's focus going forward is on our Embed product.
